Helicobacter pylori infection is the prime cause of human chronic gastritis and predisposes to gastric and duodenal ulcers or even gastric cancer. The excessive and indiscriminate use of clarithromycin for H. pylori eradication treatments has been leading to a raise of H. pylori resistance to this antibiotic, reducing the treatment success.
Probe4Pylori® is a kit for the rapid identification of H. pylori (red) and its clarithromycin resistance (green) in paraffin embedded gastric biopsies using the PNA-FISH technique. Successful application of the PNA-FISH method may imply a better quality of life of patients infected with H. pylori, as well as lead to a reduction of expenses with antibiotics that may prove to be ineffective.

Aspergillus fumigatus is the main causative agent of Invasive Aspergillosis. This mold produces conidia that when inhaled by immunocompromised hosts can deposit in the lungs and germinate, triggering the disease.
Probe4AspergillusFumigatus kit has a 28S rRNA-targeted Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) probe for the rapid and specific detection of A. fumigatus by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
The probe was tested in several A. fumigatus strains and closely related species and has a specificity and sensitivity of 100%.
The Detection of A. fumigatus was assessed in artificially-contaminated clinical samples, after a pre-germination step.
This method proved to be a reliable method for A. fumigatus detection and a suitable alternative to the existing methods.
